ABSTRACT: The Role of Mindfulness Training in Vocational Education Settings explores the integration of mindfulness practices to enhance student well-being and academic performance in vocational institutions. This study investigates how mindfulness techniques such as meditation and stress reduction strategies benefit vocational students in managing academic pressures and improving learning outcomes. The objectives were: to assess the effectiveness of mindfulness training in reducing stress and enhancing concentration among vocational students, to analyze student perceptions and experiences with mindfulness practices, and to recommend strategies for integrating mindfulness into vocational curricula. A survey research design was selected to gather data from vocational educators, mindfulness instructors, and students, providing insights into the impact of mindfulness on educational settings. A sample size of 200 respondents was purposively chosen to include participants from vocational institutions in Enugu State, Nigeria, known for its active engagement in mindfulness programs. Findings indicated that mindfulness training improved students' focus, emotional regulation, and overall well-being, leading to enhanced academic performance and reduced dropout rates. It is recommended that vocational institutions should incorporate mindfulness training into daily routines, train educators in mindfulness techniques, provide accessible resources for students, and create supportive environments that prioritize mental health and holistic development to optimize educational outcomes in vocational settings.
